Known for her eye for emerging designers and intuitive sense of style, Alex brings warmth, ease, and a sense of fun to every look she curates.
Alex’s sense of style was sparked by her grandmother, a world traveler whose authenticity and global je ne sais quoi left a lasting influence. Her own journey began in high school with a job at The GAP, where she mastered the art of the fold but, more importantly, learned how to connect with people through merchandising and thoughtful customer service. A summer trip to Aspen turned into a full-time position at Distractions, a luxury boutique that introduced her to contemporary and high-end designers and an elevated retail experience. Eventually, she returned to Raleigh, where she became manager, buyer, and later, owner of Beanie + Cecil.
This depth of unique experience led Alex to specialize in personal styling, where for the past 14 years she’s created thoughtful, one-on-one experiences that help clients confidently define their own sense of style. For Alex, styling is intuitive. The goal isn’t to transform, but to refine… so getting dressed feels second nature.

Throughout the experience, Alex and her team provide expert guidance to ensure that every item not only fits beautifully but reflects your unique style, leaving you feeling confident and inspired.

Each year, Alex invites clients to join her for an exclusive, day-long private shopping experience, where she will guide you through New York City’s iconic neighborhoods, visiting designer showrooms, local boutiques, vintage markets, luxury retail landmarks, and hidden gems.
Your journey begins with a pre-trip consultation to explore your style goals, identify any special items you're seeking, and discuss upcoming events that call for new looks. Once immersed in the city, every detail of the day is carefully curated, with a shopping itinerary tailored specifically to you. Along the way, stops are made at charming coffee shops and culinary hotspots to reflect on your fabulous finds.
A defining element of the experience is learning how to approach in-store shopping with purpose and precision—foundational skills that not only serve you long after the trip ends, but also help you discover new designers, boutiques, and hidden gems.
